Marriages In Bath and North East Somerset 2013
Press Release November 2013 – Marriages In Bath and North East Somerset 2013
Bath is the second most popular place to marry in England!
Despite having a slightly older demographic when compared with the rest of the country, Bath and North East Somerset conducts 62% more weddings than the average for England!
Why is this?
In 1995, The Marriages (Approved Premises) Regulations were amended to allow eligible couples to marry in ‘Other Civil Ceremony Venues’ (stately homes, museums, hotels etc). As a direct result, 57% of all weddings in England now take place in such venues.
As you would imagine, this picturesque World Heritage City has no shortage of beautiful venues, and even though Bath has a higher than average population of older citizens, the local authority conducts 62% more weddings than the English average. This would suggest that many couples are choosing Bath as their ‘destination wedding’ location, and are travelling here together with their entire wedding party especially for the big day.
From the magnificent and grand to the quirky and intimate, this romantic golden Georgian city offers a wide variety of exquisite ceremony and reception – click to view all the wedding venues Bath has to offer.
