Bath Surrounding Area – Dyrham Park

Approximately 9 miles from Bath, Dyrham Park House is set in 274 acres of garden and parkland and was acquired in 1961 by the National Trust.
Dyrham Park was a family home built by William Blathwayt who was born around about 1650 and who became a Member of Parliament for Bath in 1693.

There is a great three dimensional optical illusion in one of the rooms. Just across a hallway there is a life-size painting containing a dog and bird cage, together with a long corridor as can be seen below.
