‘Variations from a single source’
November 18, 2016 @ 9:30 am - November 24, 2016 @ 5:30 pm
Variations From A Single Source’ are a series of woodcuts exploring how difference can evolve from the same starting point. All the works are made using a single woodblock cut like a jigsaw puzzle to allow the pieces to be moved and removed. I have printed onto very thin Japanese paper so I can layer and then fuse them together as they take shape using Chine Colle. The images show linear rhythms that describe an illusionary space while simultaneously exploring balance and tension as the forms relate to each other and the paper’s edge. – Celia Cook
