The Designer Handbag Charity Auction

July 23, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Dosh for Dogs presents:

The Designer Handbag Auction – All proceeds going to the Cats & Dog’s Home here in Bath!

Bath Dogs and Cats Home is unique in that it takes ANY dog that needs a home due to man’s inability to properly take care of them.

As a result, it has built a name and a niche for taking in and subsequently rehoming difficult dogs who, in other areas of the country, would probably have to be put down.

Visiting the Home at first is not easy as you are confronted with barking and howling from every direction, but once you get involved, there is no volunteer activity more rewarding and satisfying.

I started walking dogs a couple of years ago and every one that I have walked over a period of time has been rehomed. Percy was a ‘long stayer’ who no one seemed to want. One day, when out walking, I met a delightful couple who, thinking he was my dog, stopped to chat. When I explained that he was not only homeless, but also a ‘long stayer’ I could see that they were near to tears. They obviously really liked him because a couple of weeks later they went up the Home and adopted him! Stories like this make the volunteering process all the more addictive
Dino, was featured on Channel 5’s show ‘The Dog Rescuers.’ The TV crew had followed Dino’s story from when he was picked up by an RSPCA Inspector after being abandoned in an empty house and came to film at Bath Dogs and Cats Home. Dino also made a special trip to studios in Kent where he met presenter, Alan Davies, for the Christmas Special. He was incredibly well behaved.

Sadly, he has yet to find the right home.

For every £1 raised, 83p is spent on sheltering, caring for and rehoming animals in need.

Meet The BelleFleurs!

The only vintage things about us are our harmonies!

Bath Based Trio The BelleFleurs are described as the Antidote to all those Andrew’s Sisters Tribute Acts! They take songs from Pop, Metal, Rock and Punk, give them a good spanking and make them into completely new arrangements! They are also slowly re-imagining The Andrew’s Sister’s Song Book;) No genre is safe! With their individual costumes and characters, innovative and witty ‘mash ups’ and new arrangements, their great sense of humour, super tight harmonies and experienced performance skills these corseted chanteuses know how to please their audiences!

Their debut album ‘Fleurting’ was released in October 2014.
