Story Fridays The 1980s
January 9, 2015 @ 7:30 pm£4.00
Live stories and live music – an evening celebrating the 1980s! We
have stories to entertain and enthral, shock and surprise, to make you
laugh and to make you cry. Our stories are read by writer-performers
in a warm, friendly, cabaret atmosphere. Story Fridays is a popular
and regular Bath event featuring six freshly-written stories by local
writers, with live music to set the scene. This month we have Bath
based duo Tracey and Jason playing their ethereal, shimmering jazzy
take on 1980s music which we’re sure will get you in the mood.
Whether the 1980s makes you think of legwarmers and shoulder pads, or
Mrs Thatcher and the miners, whether it’s Adam Ant or Duran Duran,
whether you were a yuppie or a punk, we’re sure you’d have used a
video recorder, a walkman or a Rubik’s cube – so come and remember
the fun that was – the 1980s!
What our audience thinks:
‘Enthralling’ ‘Great stories, great venue’ ‘Quaint and
quirky’ ‘Fascinating’ ‘Great way to spend Friday evenings!’
‘I’ll certainly come again!’
If you enjoy the 1980s, join us for films and a 1980s disco at the
Salisbury Club in the London Road over the weekend.
