“The audience as one was agog… Osborne’s attack is ferocious and fearless, his tenderness beyond words. His self appears subsumed in service to the composer. This is the best it gets.” The Observer

Brahms Clarinet Sonata in E flat
Brahms Cello Sonata in E minor
Brahms Intermezzo Op 117 No 1
Brahms Clarinet Trio

Brahms’s musical soul can be found in his chamber music — by turns passionate, wistful, lyrical and meditative. This programme contains two late masterpieces written for Brahms’s friend, the brilliant clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld, as well as the darkly romantic E minor Cello Sonata and the deep poetry of the late Intermezzo Op.117 No.1. Steven Osborne is joined by two fine chamber music partners in a romantic programme to treasure.
