Soup To Syllabub – A Very Private Dining Experience

Join us in a private Regency home for an illustrated talk on the history of the dining room and habits of the 18th century. Food plays a very important part in the novels and special reference will be made to Austen’s characters as well as to her extended family. Dinner will follow and consist of White soup followed by Chicken in a creamy mustard and celery sauce with seasonal vegetables for the main course. Dessert will be traditional Syllabub with meringues and cheese to finish. Wine and coffee served with the meal.
Venue out of city centre allow extra time for journey
