With a “fresh, appealing modern folk pop sound” (AmericanaUK) the Rob Lear band were welcomed onto the Folk music scene in early 2013 with their debut album co-produced by Richard Thomson’s Grammy nominated producer. Selected as Artist of the Week on BBC Radio, the Rob Lear band have played alongside the likes of Seth Lakeman, Amy Wadge, Henry Preistman and Martin Simpson.

Rob’s early solo career has seen his singles ‘A Million Stars’ and ‘Little Acorns’ result in both becoming Single of the Week. This success has now attracted a unique supporting band of musicians which adds “beautiful and beguiling” vocal harmonies, Djembe, Accordion, Guitars and also Van Morrison bassist, Pete Hurley, to Rob’s live line up. “..the performances are excellent and the arrangements undeniably fantastic..” (M.M.P).

With a new album of stunning new songs launching this year,  2015 is going to be a cracker !

Reviews for Rob and the ‘Let It Go’ album

‘Let It Go has texture that surpasses all.. Because of its beauty and ambiguity, it’s a set of songs where you’ll find something new amongst the chords and notes with each play, carrying itself as a formidable force.’ Plugged In Magazine, Issue17

“Rob’s pure, unforced voice is able to adapt and change direction at the drop of a hat….Lear offers not only a fresh, appealing modern folk pop sound but also one that sports influences of the harmony enriched and jangling 1970s bands from West America, plus you have his songwriting.” AmericanaUK
