Ranelagh near Chelsea, with its famous 200ft wide Rotunda where music was performed, were by Austen’s time the most important pleasure gardens in England. Take a musical stroll with Jane Austen through the pleasure gardens in this harpsichord recital by expert David Wright, with music by Handel, Arne, Haydn and Mozart and some lesser known composers of the day.
