Rachel Joyce in Bath

October 8, 2014 @ 8:00 pm

Rachel Joyce’s debut novel, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, was one of the huge bestsellers of 2012. Longlisted for the Man Booker Prize, it was the story of a man whose simple trip to the post box becomes a mammoth walk from Devon to Berwick-Upon-Tweed to see a dying friend from the past. The Unlikely Pilgrimage enchanted audiences, and became one of the most talked about books of the year.
We are delighted to host Joyce’s UK launch of her latest novel, The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy, in which she returns to the characters of Unlikely Pilgrimage, and tells the story of the woman whose death formed the catalyst for Harold Fry’s country-long walk. Told in simple, emotionally-honest prose, The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy is about friendship, kindness, and the gentle heroism  of a life lived alone
