Paul Muldoon in Bath
January 27, 2015 @ 7:45 pm
£8
Paul Muldoon’s new collection of poems is wide-ranging in its subject matter but utterly concerned with watchfulness. Head-turning and heartfelt, these poems attempt to scrutinise everything, including scrutiny itself. One Thousand Things Worth Knowing confirms the claim of the New York Review of Books that Paul Muldoon is ‘the most formally ambitious and technically innovative of modern poets, [who] writes poems like no one else.’
Paul Muldoon is the author of twelve books of poetry, including Moy Sand and Gravel, for which he received the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. He has been writing poetry that both questions and provides answers of a mysterious kind for over thirty years, and rightly deserves his reputation as a poet whose work is both beautiful and challenging.
This will be an evening of readings and discussion with one of the most exciting poets of the twenty-first century. Come along to meet a real master of form and verse, whose work will never fail to fascinate, interrogate and move its readers.
