Louise Dodds – A Song for Horace
November 7, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm£10.00 – £12.00
Following on from the success of the release of ‘Fly’ in 2013, jazz singer Louise Dodds is taking to the road with her new show A Song for Horace.
The show will be a tribute to Horace Silver, one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, as 2014 marks 60 years since the release of his most famous album Song for my Father. The show will look at both his music and his life, bringing him to both new audiences and existing fans.
She will be performing songs from this landmark album, along with some of his other classics such as ‘Strollin’ and ‘Nica’s Dream’, plus some of her own compositions inspired by this legend of jazz.
Louise will be backed by an award winning trio – John Pearce (piano), Dave Green (double bass) and Steve Brown (drums).
2013 was a hugely successful year for the London based, Scottish singer, and culminated in a headline show at The Pheasantry as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2013.

‘Its fabulous. Louise Dodds is a Scottish jazz vocalist I’ve had my ear on for a while now. A genuine improvising jazz vocalist.’
