Life After Elite Performance

Join us for this fascinating symposium in which we consider how dancers and athletes who have performed at the highest level make career and personal transitions post-performance, and the impact these changes have.

The event is part of the launch season for University of Bath’s ‘The Edge’, an exciting new arts venue, which includes teaching facilities, theatre, gallery, and performance and rehearsal studios.

KEY SESSIONS
Keynote address by Dame Monica Mason DBE, distinguished dancer, coach and former Director of The Royal Ballet.
Career Transitions for Elite Performers: Psychology, Emotional Wellbeing, Identity formation and shifts.
The Long-term Physical Effects of Elite Performance.
Personal Reflections: former professional dancers and athletes discuss their careers in and beyond elite performance in two afternoon panels.
