Jean-Efflam Bavouzet Piano Recital
May 17, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Debussy – 12 oubliées
Schumann – Concerto without orchestra, Op. 14
Debussy – 7 Études
Prokofieff – Sonata for Piano No 3
Debussy’s Etudes are so challenging that the composer issued ‘a warning to pianists not to take up the musical profession unless they have remarkable hands’. Fortunately for us, no pianist in the world performs this repertoire with more authority than Jean-Efflam Bavouzet The concert is completed by brilliant early Schumann and sparkling Prokofiev.
‘…he makes you listen to music as if you are discovering it Eureka!-style: yes, that’s what the composer must have meant.’ FINANCIAL TIMES
