A JAZZY CHRISTMAS CAROL WITH THE ALAN BARNES ALL STAR OCTET
December 10, 2016 @ 7:30 pm
merry evening of festive music-making for anyone who loves music or literature – or just Christmas!
Join prolific international saxophonist Alan Barnes for a new take on Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ for all the family. Readings from the original novel tell the story and eight virtuoso jazz musicians bring the characters and scenes to life. Meet Scrooge the gruff baritone sax and his clerk Bob Cratchit, a cheery clarinet. The music and readings inspire the full range of Dickens’s imagination and emotions: from terror and remorse through to love and hilarity. ‘God Bless Us Every One!’
If you’d like to get more of an idea about what to expect, you can have a listen for yourself at Alan’s website.
