Impressionist Women: Makers and Muses Colin Wiggins (National Gallery)
March 17, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Until the Impressionist revolution, cultural prejudices made it almost
impossible for women to become professional artists and their role was
confined to being treated as subject matter. This talk will look at
some of the remarkable women who broke through the barriers of
convention, both as artists and models.
Colin Wiggins is Special Projects Curator at the National Gallery,
where he has curated exhibitions of work by artists including Paula
Rego, Ana Maria Pacheco and Bridget Riley.
Café open for drinks from 6 to 7pm.
£10 (includes admission to the exhibition from 6pm.)
