Bath Operatic and Dramatic Society return to the Main House with their brand new production of the feel-good musical.
In 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, dreams of dancing on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. Join her as she takes on life’s great obstacles with a smile on her face, a spring in her step and a song in her heart. The toetapping numbers include You Can’t Stop the Beat, Welcome to the 60’s, Nicest Kids in Town and many more.
Hairspray is the musical with everything – the ultimate feel-good show. based on the 1988 John Waters fi lm, Hairspray won eight Tony Awards when it opened on broadway in 2002. The London production was nominated for a record-setting eleven Olivier Awards, winning for best New Musical and in three other categories.
