In The Footsteps Of Jane Austen – Visit To Basildon Park

Coach trip: Depart – Riverside Coach Park
Basildon Park is a beautiful 18th century house near Reading. Surrounded by park land, it is frequently used as a film location. In 2005, it was Netherfield Park in Pride and Prejudice, and in 2013 Grantham House in Downton Abbey’s Christmas special. Owned by the National Trust it is filled with fine paintings, fabrics and furniture. Coffee on arrival will be followed by an introductory talk about the filming before visiting the house and grounds.

An optional lunch is available: vegetable quiche and salad followed by coffee or tea (add £7)
