Fan Phenomena: Jane Austen – with Dr Gaby Malcolm

What is the joy of Jane that has lasted for two hundred years? What is the secret of the inspiration she offers to so many other writers of JAFF (Jane Austen Fan Fiction – if you didn’t already know!), sequels, prequels, web series, spin-offs, and fantasy versions of her characters’ lives? In this lecture Dr Gabrielle Malcolm (writer and Research Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church University) will answer these questions and investigate the wide world of Jane Austen fan culture, the subject of her forthcoming book ‘Fan Phenomena: Jane Austen’.
