Emmas by Jane Austen

July 2, 2016 @ 2:30 pm

Emma Woodhouse is ‘handsome’, clever and rich – has a tendency to
think well of herself’ and is the self appointed matchmaker in local
society.
Jane Austen’s novel is brought to life on stage as we follow her
journey from idle interference in the romantic lives of her friends
and acquaintances to genuine love and understanding.
Austen described Emma as a ‘heroine whom no one but myself will much
like’ – however, it is for all her flaws that she is so endearing.
This is a light-hearted and sharply observed tale of love,
misunderstanding and resolution.
Adapted by Jon Jory and by arrangement with Playscripts Inc. This
performance is a charity show in aid of Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
