Schubert Die schöne Müllerin

The first of three concerts of song led by Alisdair Hogarth at this year’s festival, which will journey through two of Schubert’s most famous song cycles, before joining jazz pianist Jason Rebello for a special evening of iconic classical songs with a twist. This first concert presents Schubert’s passionate cycle of young love and heartbreak: this music packs an extraordinary emotional punch.
Alisdair Hogarth is a versatile and exciting pianist. He is a founder member of the acclaimed Prince Consort, he regularly broadcasts for the BBC and Classic FM and he has an international career both as a soloist and accompanist. Here he is joined by Nicholas Mulroy, who is building a strong reputation for his dramatic and emotionally telling performances.

“Hogarth’s articulation .. sparkled…a vivid, compelling performance.” The Independent

“a radiant sound that just gets more ravishing as it gets higher. It is hard to imagine anyone singing it better” Sydney Morning Herald on Nicholas Mulroy
