Death and the Maiden

Ariel Dorfman

This play was famously filmed with Sigourney Weaver and Ben Kingsley and is one of the most thought provoking pieces of theatre ever to be written on the themes of political disappearances, forgiveness and revenge.

In an age when people are still regularly snatched off foreign streets, sometimes to reappear broken and sometimes to disappear for ever, this is a play that generates discussion long after it is over. This is a dark political thriller that everyone should see.
