After his wonderful and touching reading with us last year, we’re delighted to be welcoming David back for a second time.

David Harsent, the critically-acclaimed poet who translated the works of the Greek poet Yannis Ritsos, is returning to read from his upcoming collection, Fire Songs. The poems in Fire Songs, whether appearing alone or in dramatic sequence, exist as a single entity, inhabiting dark and haunting territory. Harsent writes with astonishing fluidity, drifting from the lyrical and touching to the stark and harrowing without so much as a jolt. This is a great opportunity to meet an extraordinary poet.
