CLOUDBUSTING present The Kate Bush Songbook

Cloudbusting’s acoustic offshoot, ‘The Kate Bush Song Book’, features Mandy’s vocals, Michael on piano and, where possible, Dave on upright electric bass. It’s a simpler, more intimate take on some of her bigger songs and offers a welcome opportunity to explore many of the lesser-know, more mysterious compositions from across Kate’s long career.
“Kate has a knack of inspiring her bass players to come up with incredibly intricate, melodic bass lines,” says Dave. “Her music always plays with you – never gives you what you’d expect – a bass player’s dream.”
“As a child trying to work out how to play Kate’s songs on the piano I was mesmerised by her unusual counterpoints and chord structures,” says Michael. “It all started with her youthful imagination, her love of the piano, and being shown ‘middle C’ by her father. The unbridled creativity of what followed is what we’re trying to explore with ‘The Kate Bush Song Book.” more
