Angela Hewitt – Saturday 19th November 11:00am at the Assembly Rooms

D. Scarlatti – Sonatas
Mozart – Sonata in B flat major K 333
Beethoven – Sonata in D minor Op 31 No 2 The Tempest
Beethoven – Sonata quasi una fantasia in E flat major Op. 27 No 1

Angela Hewitt is one of the world’s leading pianists, and her appearances in Bath are always sought-after events. So early booking is recommended for this full-length morning recital with an appealing programme: a selection of Domenico Scarlatti’s mercurial single-movement sonatas; a brilliant Sonata by Mozart; and two typically exploratory sonatas by Beethoven – including Op 31 No 2 in D minor, an appropriate choice in this Shakespeare anniversary year because it was reportedly inspired by The Tempest.
