Bath Surrounding Area – Westbury

The small town of Westbury in Wiltshire lies not far from its famous White Horse hill carving and like Bradford on Avon, it to is mentioned in the Doomesday Book of 1086. There are a large number of chalk hill carvings in Wiltshire, Westbury’ being the oldest in the county. The White Horse can be seen from miles and is easy to get to by car, with plenty of parking spaces. The hill on which the White Horse is carved in is popular for kite flying, hand and para-gliding and radio control flying, plus, there are great views of the surrounding countryside.
