Getting Around – Trains
First Great Western will get you to Bristol and Weston super Mare and anywhere south-west like Exeter or Penzance, and east to Chippenham, Swindon, Reading or London Paddington. Change at London Paddington for London Waterloo International.
Other train services will take you south to Freshford, Avoncliff, Bradford on Avon, and the south coast places like Weymouth and Portsmouth.
Cross Country train services run from the bottom left of England to the top right – Penzance to Newcastle – and you can join their services at Bristol.
Train travel is ideal for covering large distances quickly if money is less of a problem than time, and is the only real option for cyclists wanting to reach somewhere far away.
