Iconic Buildings & Views of Bath Series – The Huntsman

“The Huntsman” wins the prize for the oldest shop-front in the city and one of the prettiest.
Built between 1748 & 1750, by John Wood the Elder (known for designing many of the streets and buildings of Bath) the Terrace Walk Wine Vaults was originally run by a local wine merchant.
The shop front has undergone changes over the years with the entrance moving form the right hand end to the centre, however the intricate masonry detail around the arches has remained reminding us of the history of this iconic grand building.
