A try-ific performance by Bath as they run riot in Italy

Bath travelled to Italy to face Benetton Treviso and were looking for a convincing win to give themselves an outside chance of getting through to the quarter final stages of the Champions Cup.
They didn’t disappoint the travelling Bath supporters as they ran in seven tries after a nervous opening that saw the home team take the lead. The tries were shared between the forwards, Dunn, Mercer, Charteris and backs, Banahan, Watson and Jonathan Joseph while also securing a penalty try due to consistent infringements by the Benetton defense.
Overall, Bath showed composure and brilliance, but not for the first time Bath were sluggish coming out after the break and gave away two soft tries and against better teams they can’t afford to do that as they go in search of a top four place in the Aviva Premiership and push on in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
Unfortunately due to the Scarlets not beating Toulon by more than seven points Bath were knocked out of Europe and will look to turn their fortunes around in the Anglo-Welsh Cup next weekend against Newcastle Falcons at the Rec as they look to get to the semi finals. Tickets are on sale here.
